"There are opportunities for all of us in the franchising community to be as visible as we can," says Maurice, "and in particular to communicate to others that here is a sector where growth and profitability are still to be found in good measure."

The audience included keynote speaker Tony Strachan from the Bank of England and event chairman Charles McGhee (until recently Editor of The Glasgow Herald newspaper), as well as around 170 attendees including local councillors and other business leaders.
